February 11, 2021WOLFEBORO The weather cooperated for attendance at Wolfeboro s Deliberative session on Tuesday evening, Feb. 2, but the number of voters was sparse despite the move of the meeting from the Great Hall to the Kingswood Arts Center to allow for adequate social distancing. Those able to attend the meeting in person were able to amend the warrant; voters will vote on the amended warrant, posted on the town website, on March 9.
The meeting began at 7 p.m. and ended at 11:30. It was an informational evening as department heads presented details, complete with engineering designs and drawings and explanations of need for the numerous articles pertaining to infrastructure – electric department upgrades, public works projects, Pop Whalen Ice Arena repairs, support for library and police needs, all with description of funding sources and tax rate impacts. ....

Corn Falls as Post-WASDE Correction Continues
Corn for March delivery fell 3.9% to $5.34 1/2 a bushel on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday as grains fell after Tuesday s WASDE report showed a smaller-than-expected cut to ending stocks. Soybeans for March delivery fell 3.4% to $13.54 a bushel. Wheat for March delivery fell 2.2% to $6.35 1/2 a bushel.
Grain futures dropped Wednesday. Traders opted to take profits in reaction to a muted movement in stockpile figures from the government. The USDA numbers were nowhere near what trade has been assuming given the export sales reports recently and given the crop reports out of South America, so it looks like we are going to have a little readjustment period and then have to wait for the March report, said Tomm Pfitzenmaier of Summit Commodity Brokerage. ....
